The long-awaited end to the LPA road embargo limiting vehicles to 5 tons or less will come to an end on April 12. Beginning that day, the weight restrictions will be lifted and delivery vehicles, equipment and material deliveries and other loads exceeding 5 tons will be welcome on LPA roads.

We do request that heavy loads try not to drive near the road shoulder, if it is safe to do so. Stopping to let another vehicle pass may help to reduce road damage in areas the road shoulder is still soft.

Thanks to all members and businesses for your cooperation in making the road embargo a success, by significantly reducing damage to our streets during the spring thaw when the roadbed of our sealcoat streets is unstable. That cooperation has saved the LPA thousands in road repair costs and make it possible to spend the money on road improvement instead.
