The seven candidates on the Nov. 2 ballot for Guthrie County Board of Supervisors have been invited to participate in a public forum, hosted by PRIDE, the Panora and Lake Panorama Area Development Group.

It will be held Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Panora Community Center, 115 W. Main Street, in Panora.

The event will feature a series of questions from PRIDE moderators as well as an opportunity for the candidates to say a few words about themselves. In the interest of time, the event will not include open debate or questions from the audience.

The candidates are District 2 – Clifford Carney and Jim Petersen; District 3 – Everett Grasty and Kevin Wirt; District 4 – Kevin Dentlinger, Tom Rutledge, and Dave Shroyer.

One person from each district will be elected to serve a four-year term beginning in January 2011. Among other duties, the Guthrie County Supervisors are responsible for establishing the county budget and corresponding property tax rates.

PRIDE encourages all voters to attend this free event and learn more about the candidates who seek to govern Guthrie County.
